An energy model for the transient flow boiling crisis under highly subcooled conditions at atmospheric pressure

We present an original model describing the transient flow boiling crisis of water at high subcooling and atmospheric pressure. hypothesize that in such conditions, mechanism is prevention bubbles recondensation when a thin fluid layer near heated wall reaches temperature saturation conditions. To capture this phenomenon, we propose energy heat exchanges throughout entire from initiation to crisis. bring light non-dimensional mathematical relation capturing 168 working points investigated range power escalation period (from 5 500 ms), 25 75 K) Reynolds number (8,500 35,000) Its fitting accuracy excellent for (50 K above): more than % these are predicted with ± error. This relationship enables prediction critical flux based on steady-state value or single tuning constant.
